In this part of the world, it used to be that the fancier the skis, the higher the status of their wearer. Hence, people would spend inordinate amounts of time carving elaborate patterns into their skis, making them into veritable pieces of art.
Our host found this pair at an auction, so there is no real way of knowing how old they are. I’m guessing Very Old. And very pretty.
