Spot of Jungle Tea, Anyone?

This picture was taken from our campsite in the Gunung Leuser National Park. As Martin described here, we used this site as a jumping off point into the jungle. We hired a guide and porter for the trip, making the wet, hot trek that much easier on ourselves.

We did, however, run across two different couples who were day-tripping into the jungle. It was apparently a safe thing to do. What it didn’t give them, though, was the luxury of sipping on a hot tea made for them while they’re splashing around in waterfalls. That came as part of the $25/person/day package – worth every penny.
