You may recall that we had a general strike here the other day. Well, that adventure has run its course now, and life in Kathmandu is less bizarre. However, there’s one group of disgruntled workers that haven’t gone to work in a week now.
The garbage collectors.
People normally drop their garbage in certain places (street corners mostly), to be collected or burned. Right now, however, it’s all rotting away in huge piles that threaten to block off traffic.
Unfortunately, there’s no end in sight either, as the parties aren’t even talking to each other.
It’s the opposite of nice.
